The path we have taken has not been a smooth one, from the original development of the world's first general-purpose particle method software and the development of its market, to the creation of a platform that bets on the potential of GPU computing.
With the support of many users and partners, and with our employees standing shoulder to shoulder, we were able to overcome many difficulties.

1996
Professor Koshizuka et al.(The University of Tokyo) present MPS, a computational method that enables the simulation of phenomena such as water spray and structural failure.
2002
Established "Visual Engineering Study Group" to aim at the fusion of simulation and computer graphics: at the workshop on IT program of MEXT, "Frontier Simulation Software for Industrial Science".

2004
Prometech Software, Inc. was established.
Aiming to integrate simulation and CG technologies.
2005
Concluded a joint test agreement with Japan Broadcasting Corporation (to verify the application of physical simulation technology to broadcast program production).
2006
Announced FLUIDSISTA, a simulation product for disaster prevention jointly developed with SGI Japan, Ltd., in Japan and the United State.
2007
NAMCO BANDAI Games, Inc. released arcade version of Tekken 6, featuring Prometech Software's OctaveEngine Nature physics engine.
2008
Hudson Soft Company, Limited released "AQUA FOREST Powered by OctaveEngine Casual" for iPhone, featuring Prometech Software's OctaveEngine Casual physics engine.
Cooperated in the movie "252: Seizonsha ari" using our proprietary fluid simulation technology. Provided simulation data of a huge storm surge surging into Odaiba and Shiodome.
2009
Spun off Game Division (Game Engine Development Business)
Released Particleworks: Particle method CAE Software
2010
Japan GPU Computing Limited Liability Partnership (G-DEP) was established.
G-DEP Received Tesla Preferred Partner 2.0 Certification from NVIDIA
2011
Particleworks won the 23rd "Small and Medium Enterprise Excellent New Technology/New Product Award" for the software category for its "Excellence Award",
Received the Tokyo Metropolitan Venture Technology Award for Excellence
2012
Particleworks was honored as "2012 Industrial Technology of the Nine Prefectures and Cities" at the 62nd Conference of the Nine Prefectures and Cities.
2014
Particleworks won 2013 Technology Award from the Japanese Society of Computational Engineering
Received Education Minister's Award at the University Venture Award 2014

Established GDEP Solutions, Inc.

Released Granuleworks: Discrete Element Method software code
2019
Established Prometech CG Research.
Established Particleworks Europe S.r.l. (Italy) .

Took over Softech Corporation's PGI compiler products and HPC engineering operations.
NVIDIA HPC SDK and Open ACC user community "HPC WORLD" started operation.
2022
Launched NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise and Simulation Consulting.
2023
Transitioned to holding company structure through a corporate split and change of trade name to "Prometech Group, Inc".
